But the Real Madrid ace, certain to be the centre of attention as far as English fans are concerned, has now seen his value explode after his stunning first season at the Bernabeu.

Just 12 months after his £88m move from Wembley opponents Dortmund last summer, Bellingham has now almost TREBLED in value according to the Swiss-based CIES Football Observatory.

Number crunchers have analysed more than 5,500 paid transfer deals to help compile their latest up to date assessment of the world’s top players.

In a boost for England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of Euro 2024, Bellingham is joined by two more of his Three Lions stars in the top six.

CIES analysts say Phil Foden is now worth £174m, with Bukayo Saka valued at £166m.

But it is Bellingham’s stunning rise - ahead of second placed Erling Haaland and Real team-mates Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo - which demonstrates the scale of the former Birmingham midfielder’s impact.

CIES factor in “age, length of contract, minutes and starting minutes, competition level, results, the economic strength of the player's club and league, potential buyers and inflation” to determine the open market valuation.

According to the statisticians, Bellingham is now worth £21m more than second placed Haaland, despite the Norwegian ace’s staggering goals return of 90 goals in just 98 appearances for Manchester City.

Bellingham has bagged 23 goals in 43 appearances in his first Madrid campaign, despite playing in a range of different positions for Carlo Ancelotti.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is just outside the top 10, ranked 12th with a value of £108m - doubling his value since his move to Chelsea - although Declan Rice is priced at £88m, a 12 per cent reduction on the £100m fee Arsenal paid to land him from West Ham last summer.
