A memoir about Meghan Markle’s experience as a senior member of the Royal Family would reportedly be a lucrative venture, so we asked Mirror readers if they would buy the bombshell book.

This comes after entertainment expert Mark Boardman claimed that the tell-all manuscript would make "tens of millions" of dollars, even before landing on shelves. However, royal author and commentator Tom Quinn explained that the move would leave King Charles "filled with horror", following the impact of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare.

Tom told the Mirror: "For all her efforts to make a success of her new online business, America Riviera Orchard, Meghan knows that a personal memoir of her time in the UK as a working royal would sell millions of copies and make her the sort of money she craves."

He continued: "She is also acutely aware that such a book would only boost traffic to her new online business. All this fills King Charles with horror because Harry is bound to be a major contributor to the book. And we know there is a lot more material."

The Duke of Sussex published his explosive memoir in January 2023, which included a number of damaging revelations about senior members of the Firm - including claims that Prince William physically attacked him. Following its dramatic release, Harry explained that he had enough content left for a second book, exacerbating tensions within the Firm.

Since stepping down as senior royals in 2020, the Sussexes have embarked on various projects, including a podcast deal with Spotify and a £77million contract with Netflix - which is expected to end in early 2025. Following reports that Meghan’s potential memoir could be a profit-making project, we asked Mirror readers if they would read the bombshell book - and 90 per cent said they wouldn’t be interested.

Around 6,655 people took part in our poll, and a whopping 5,978 selected the option 'No, I wouldn’t'. Voicing their thoughts in the comments section, one person penned: "Couldn't stand to put money in their pockets at the expense of the British people and the Royal Family."

"Excerpts would be published on every news website in the land so I'll just read them," expressed another. A third posted: "I’m not into the Royal Family but it’s time to take the titles away from Harry and Meghan. They obviously haven’t got a kind word to say about the royals so why do they desperately want to keep the titles."

While another added: "What can she realistically talk about? Her 72 engagements as a member of the Royal Family? She will have to tread a very thin line. There are still many people who she upset while in the UK; writing an ill-judged memoir would be opening Pandora's box and she would bitterly regret it."

Meanwhile, nine per cent said they would read the memoir, as another posted: "This is a good question. For curiosity maybe I would! That’s what the publishers count on," as a second echoed: "I will read it just for curiosity."

A third penned: "This is what is meant by hard-working women. Leave Meghan and Harry alone. She hasn't done anything wrong, rather than highlight the hidden, secret swords."

Another supporter shared: "The royals keep pushing and attacking Harry and Meghan at every opportunity. Why can't they see it is a reflection on them not Harry and Megan? If they write another book they will only have themselves to blame." Only one per cent selected the option 'Other' on our poll.

Please note that the poll is still live, so these results may change after the article has been published.
