A MUM is helping her daughter ace her GCSEs by spending hours creating exam-themed breakfasts.
Carla Harris surprised 16-year-old Violet with a biology lab brekkie set up in the kitchen before her first test.
Cereal was served in a conical flask, milk in a lab beaker and the table filled with skeleton props.
For English, mum-of-five Carla created a Romeo and Juliet- themed dish with strawberry roses, star-shaped toast and waffles plus burning candles.
Carla, 48, who uses props from parties and Halloween, said: “I wanted to take Violet’s mind off the exams with a silly breakfast, and eat properly. I have her timetable so I know what she has coming up.”

Violet, of Hockley, Essex, said: “My first exam was biology. When I came downstairs my mum had a really cute breakfast set up with all the props and it was so sweet.
“She had all these conical flasks and beakers and test tubes full of cereal and milk.
"She'd also put rubber rats on the side and it was really cute and I loved it.
“For my English Literature exam we do Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and this had to be my favourite breakfast so far.
“There were candles everywhere and quotes written out in calligraphy.
“My mum had carved a rose out of a strawberry and cut stars out of toast and waffles. It was crazy and beyond what I was expecting.
“These breakfasts have definitely helped me manifest a good grade in my exams.”
Violet has now sat six exams and says she is looking forward to seeing what her mum creates for her last 10 tests, including Spanish, maths and physics.
