Jannik Sinner has confirmed the emergence of tennis’ latest power couple.
The world number two advanced to the second round of the French Open on Monday after his straight sets victory over Christopher Eubanks. Sinner, 22, has plenty to focus on as he seeks to win the second Grand Slam title of his career following his triumph at the Australian Open in January.
However, it was not Sinner’s quest to become world number one or an update on the hip problem that forced him to withdraw from the Italian Open that caused a stir. Instead, it was developments in his personal life. The question came after eagle-eyed fans began speculating that the Italian superstar was in a relationship with Anna Kalinskaya.
It began after fans zoomed in on a photo of Sinner in Monaco getting a call from ‘Anna’, sparking rumours of a possible romance. The pair were subsequently spotted going for dinner and trained at the same tennis club in Italy last month.
When asked about the speculation in the Italian portion of his post-match press conference, Sinner said: “I don’t like to talk about my private life much, but yes, Anna and I are dating.” Kalinskaya, 25, was spotted supporting Sinner for part of his match before the Russian began preparing for her first round clash on Monday.

The pair join the growing list of power couples within tennis.

Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils are married, while Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur are also in a relationship. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have confirmed that they are back together after briefly splitting up following their losses at the Madrid Open earlier this month.
As for Sinner and Kalinskaya, both are expected to play their second round matches on Wednesday. Sinner is scheduled to face Richard Gasquet while Kalinskaya will take on Bianca Andreescu in their bids to win the French Open.
