He lost his virginity to a horse-loving woman in a field behind a pub, and said she “treated me not unlike a young stallion”, branding his first time as an “inglorious episode”.

But there was one line from the autobiography that had TV presenters Carol, 62, and Alison Hammond, 47, in tears of laughter.

The pair struggled to compose themselves, as did Dermot O’Leary and Gyles Brandreth, while discussing the book.

One section reads: “Quick ride, after which she smacked my rump and sent me off to graze.”

The presenters couldn’t compose themselves and tried to talk through their laughter as they delved into the topic.

Gyles read out loud from the book to his colleagues Carol, Dermot and Alison, as they all erupted into laughter.

But it was when Gyles said “other channels are available”, that Alison’s iconic laugh came out as she giggled at the playful joke.

Dermot quickly brought things back to focus as he introduced what was coming up next, giving his co-stars time to compose themselves.

Harry refers to losing his virginity as he describes a royal bodyguard called Marko visiting him at Eton when he was a teenage student in 2001.

He says Marko was sent to him to “find out the truth”.

Harry writes: “I suspected he was referring to my recent loss of virginity. Inglorious episode, with an older woman.

“Among other things about it that were wrong: it happened in a grassy field behind a busy pub. Obviously someone had seen us.

“The truth, Marko?

“Marko said: ‘About whether or not you’re doing drugs, Harry’.”

The bombshell book, to be published on Tuesday, goes on to detail Harry’s dabbling with illegal substances — and sees him admit for the first time to taking cocaine.
