Arne Slot officially starts work as Liverpool boss in just a matter of days as he replaces Jurgen Klopp this summer.

The former Feyenoord boss arrives with the stiff task of shaping his time with pre-season plans in place and two continental tournaments this summer in the shape of EURO 2024 and the Copa America. The Dutch boss will be forced to work quickly in anticipation of the start of 2023/24.

Slot will have the opportunity to work with CEO of Football Michael Edwards and his team to develop the team for a new era. New faces are set to arrive this summer and some vacancies could arrive.

Mirror Football takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours below.

Time to sell Salah

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson would not be surprised if Mo Salah departs Liverpool this summer. The former Match of the Day pundit even went as far as to suggest Liverpool should facilitate the move out of respect to the winger if it is what he wishes.

Lawrenson did suggest a £100m bid may be required first, after Liverpool turned down £150m less than 12 months ago. It could be time for the parties to go their separate ways after a difficult period however.

"I have a feeling that Mohamed Salah will go," Lawrenson told Best Online Poker Sites. "I just think that Saudi Arabia would be the logical place for him to move to. He’s not been the same since he came back from AFCON and you could see towards the end of the season that he seemed a little bit miffed – he just didn’t seem to be the same player.

"If Liverpool could get £100m for him from the Saudi Pro League, I think I would take it considering the circumstances. Salah’s been absolutely brilliant for Liverpool over the years, but he looks like he might need a change of club and I personally wouldn’t get in the way of that out of respect for him."

Kelleher transfer admission

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has conceded that he could be required to leave Liverpool this summer in a bid to find first team football. The Republic of Ireland stopper played 26 times for the Reds in 2023/24 as Alisson Becker's understudy but his experience has only left him hungrier for more action.

The 25-year-old realises that would be a stiff task at Liverpool. “It would be great if that happened at Liverpool, but I’m not silly," he told the Athletic. "I know that Ali has been the best goalkeeper in the world for years.

“I’ve had such an amazing time at Liverpool. It’s been a crazy journey for me and one that I’ve absolutely loved. I love the club, I love the fans and I have a great relationship with the players and the staff. Whether it’s here at Liverpool or somewhere else, I do feel the next step for me is to be a No 1.”

Liverpool target defenders

Liverpool appear to have set their eyes on the Bundesliga in a bid to reinforce their defence this summer. Reports from El Futbolero suggest the Reds are looking to Eintracht Frankfurt star Willian Pacho and Bayer Leverkusen's Piero Hincapie, to support Virgil van Dijk moving forwards.

The Reds are already said to have made contract over Pacho, who has had a valuation around £45million placed upon him. Hincapie, was the subject of interest from Liverpool last summer.

Liverpool are said to be open to offering a £42.5m fee.
