Springwatch viewers were shocked when they noticed the price of Chris Packham's outfit in one of the episodes.

In the latest series of the wildlife programme, the 63-year-old star promised to provide one of the 'most dramatic' seasons of the wildlife series ever had. Earlier this week, an episode showed Chris presenting the series alongside 58-year-old Hannah Stitfall. They enjoyed an alcohol-free beer at The Pecker and Bush pub after an eventful day.

He rocked a mustard yellow raincoat, black bucket hat and simple trousers for the outing. However, fans couldn't help but notice that he purchased his hat from Prada, with the accessory retailing for £520. Fans immediately took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to joke about the price tag.

"Go on with your bad self Chris Packham, wearing a Prada bucket hat on Springwatch," one user posted while another commented: "Chris Packham in his Prada bucket hat is a pure vibe on tonight’s Springwatch." One viewer added: "Can't get over Chris Packham rocking a Prada bucket hat on BBC Springwatch tonight!"

One shared the price and wrote: "Chris Packham wearing a £500+ Prada bucket hat. #springwatch." The Springwatch episode comes after Chris urged billionaire singer Taylor Swift to reconsider her "absurd" private jet use.

The Springwatch host spoke out after the singer reportedly racked up 178,000 miles on her two planes last year. Taylor is currently on her sold-out Eras tour in Europe and starts the UK and Ireland leg on June 7. Chris said he was particularly outraged after the singer sent a cease and desist letter to Jack Sweeney, the creator of social media accounts that logged the take-offs and landings of her jets, one of which she has now sold.

The TV star said: "We know that private jets are the single greatest contributor when it comes to jet aviation fuel and the least efficient because they're carrying one person. And so he called her out and she threatened to sue him. And I just thought, 'You really missed the trick there, Taylor'.

"What you should have said is, 'You're right, times have moved on. I've got to change my practice. I'm going to sell my private jets'. And that would have been such a powerful thing for her to say to an audience. And I mean, her audience is primarily a young audience, isn't it? I mean, you can't say she's responsible for climate breakdown. But she's an icon. And as a consequence of that, she should be leading."
