Mel B has shared an insight into her wedding preparation and how she plans to spice things up.
The Spice Girls star, 49, is planning to tie the knot for the third time with her fiancé, Rory McPhee but admits the couple have not yet set a date. Leeds native Melanie and Rory announced they had become engaged in October 2022, with the hairdresser popping the question with a huge diamond ring.
Reports claim that the couple had been secretly dating since 2018 and had fallen madly in love with one another. Melanie and Rory never shy away from sharing their love for one another and often share glimpses into their relationship on social media with her millions of fans.
But while the couple may not have set a date, Melanie has revealed that her Spice Girls legacy will play a huge part in the big day. In a new interview, the star has shed light on getting married for the third time and the lengths she and Rory have had to go through to prove that their marriage will last.
Melanie has previously been married twice, firstly to dancer Jimmy Gulzar between 1998 and 2000. She later went on to marry Stephen Belafonte in 2007 before finalising their divorce on December 15, 2017. During their divorce, Melanie claimed she had been subjected to physical and emotional abuse from Belafonte. He denies all allegations.
New Year resolutions you should make for 2023 based on your star signThe couple are due to say "I do" at St Paul's Cathedral which only permits 30 couples to marry there each year. Prior to finalising a date, she says she and Rory had to meet with the bishop and the dean and explain why she wants to marry for the third time. Speaking to Attitude, the mum-of-three said: "I've been given a few dates, but none we've said yes to yet. Only 30 couples a year get married there, so it's quite a thing."
Reflecting on her Spice Girls bandmates, she added: "Of course, all the girls are going to be invited," before exclaiming: "There will be some leopard print!" But it seems as though that won't be the only time fans will be seeing all five Spice Girls alongside one another again.
The chart-mauling group recently reunited for Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday party, although Melanie has teased that they will all be on stage together soon. Writing in the updated version of her memoir, Brutally Honest, Melanie penned: "The Spice Girls will all be out there, all five of us together again - yes, I'm saying it, it will happen."
The updated edition of Brutally Honest by Melanie Brown and Louise Gannon (Quadrille, £10.99) is out now.
