Police are investigating the ‘violent death’ of a British man in Spain.
The 35-year-old’s body was found in the holiday resort of Mojacar north of Almeria.
The alarm was raised around 11pm tonight after the grim discovery near Ventanicas beach, a wide sandy beach described as ‘beautiful’ by many visitors on sties like Tripadvisor.
Blood is said to have been found on the wall and floor of the unidentified spot where he was found.
The unnamed Brit’s body is believed to have lain undiscovered for several hours.
Police sources said this morning that ‘all lines of inquiry’ were being investigated, including the possibility that the man’s death was accidental.
One said: ‘The autopsy will be key here.
‘All lines of inquiry are still open and investigators are not assuming anything at this stage.’
Civil Guard investigators are reporting to a duty court in the nearby town of Vera which has opened an ongoing probe.
