The action at Paris 2024 shows no sign of slowing down, with 23 Olympic gold medals up for grabs on Day 12.

Great Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith won a 400m silver medal at last year’s World Championships but was unable to upgrade that to gold in Paris as America’s Quincy Hall pipped him on the line to claim gold.

In the velodrome, the men’s team pursuit had to settle for silver in their final with Australia before the women’s team pursuit quartet succeeded in their bid for bronze against Italy.

Andy Macdonald became the oldest skateboarder in Olympic history when he represented Team GB in the park event this morning, although the 51-year-old failed to make it through the preliminary round and will take no part in the final.

Boxing golds will be won in the men’s 63.5kg and 80kg categories, with potential future stars of the professional sport in action.

Home hero Sofiane Oumiha boxes for France against Cuba’s Erislandy Alvarez at 63.5kg, with Kazakhstan’s Nurbek Oralbay fighting Ukraine’s Oleksandr Khyzhniak at 80kg.
