Eubank Jr slapped Benn when they faced off for the first time since their highly anticipated fight was finally rescheduled for April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Chris Eubank Jr slapped Conor Benn while holding an EGG as the rivals faced off ahead of their grudge fight.
The sons of legends will finally touch gloves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26 - and they came face to face on Monday night In Manchester. And after trading verbal jabs during a press conference, Eubank Jr leaned in during the face-off and slapped Benn with his left hand.
Eubank Jr had an egg in his hand in reference to Benn claiming his failed drug test in 2022 was as a result of him eating too many. Benn and Eubank Jr were immediately separated as the former attempted to get to his opponent after the incident in Manchester. Benn later took to social media to say: "That’s the only shot you’ll land on me you fucking prick. Two rounds you are finished."

The duo will reignite their historical feud in London, their initial bout in October 2022 having been called off due to Benn failing a voluntary drug test on fight week. Benn’s two-year battle to clear his name saw his suspension lifted in November. The fight will be held at the middleweight limit of 160lb with both fighters required to add no more than 10lb by the Saturday morning.
Eubank Jr had earlier referenced Benn’s egg excuse, saying: "I read a tweet that made me chuckle last week and it kind of summed up what this fight is. The guy said, ’Chris Eubank Jr is an arrogant f***ing prick and I can’t wait until he smashes the eggs out of Conor Benn’. I don’t understand it but that’s the passion we have garnered for this fight.
"Conor, I’ve been meaning to ask, how many eggs did you have to eat to fail those two drug tests? I’ve been racking my brains for a long time, everyone wants to know. " Benn responded: "I have been cleared three times... by people a lot smarter than your. One, I have been cleared and two, you will never be cleared of being a w***er."
Eubank Jr’s promoter Ben Shalom claimed he didn’t know what Eubank Jr had been planning. "Honestly I don’t know what happened. It was an egg, we can see it was an egg, but I didn’t know what it was at the time. I was in shock at the time like everyone else. It kicked of there... it was a great press conference up till then but I think that was too far."
Earlier, Benn had taken aim at Eubank Jr’s relationship with his dad. "Chris can say what he wants, but the bottom line is his dad don’t even like him," he said. "You could not pay that man enough money to sit in this man’s corner. Now that’s an accomplishment, Chris. That’s an accomplishment, well done. Most unlikeable geezer on the planet, even your own dad don’t like you."
