HE is one of my favourite British artists, not just because he is a lovely bloke but because of his unique sound and original song writing.

But unfortunately Tom Grennan has fallen foul of the same issue faced by stars including Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa – after he was accused of stealing a person’s song.

The Lionheart singer is being sued by an individual who claims Tom plagiarised the lyrics for his 2016 debut single Something In The Water.

A source said: “Tom has been going through hell behind the scenes after someone claimed they wrote part of Something In The Water.

“It is his first track and means so much to Tom, so to have someone saying this is really painful for him.”

Double Brit Award nominated Tom alluded to the battle last week on his podcast Phone In.

He opened up when talking about his early music career before getting signed, which saw him playing his original songs at St Mary’s University in Twickenham.

Tom would memorise his lyrics rather than write them down because of his dyslexia.

He said of the ongoing fight over the song: “I never used to write lyrics down, I used to remember them.

“But there was no proof that I wrote the songs.

“There was this one thing that happened to me that I showed a guy this song before I was signed and that, and when it came out, he said that he had written the song.

“There’s this thing where I can’t access anything of that song, it’s one of my biggest songs as well.

“I can’t say what song it is, it’s an ongoing thing.

“There’s videos of me doing it at uni but everybody’s got new phones now, everybody’s thrown phones out, so there’s no proof. Done me.”

Tom added: “I’m still waiting for someone to be like, ‘Ah, I’ve found one!’ but nobody has, unfortunately.”

I can only hope it won’t be long until this is sorted.

The truth always outs.

Hal that glitters

ALL that glitters is not gold — it could be Halsey in this silver dress instead.

She glistened in the sunshine as she strutted her stuff in the £4,580 Paco Rabanne dress as she attended the brand’s Paris Fashion Week show on Wednesday.

Earlier in the week the Without Me singer made her catwalk debut by walking in Pressiat’s autumn-winter show.

Halsey, who released her new song Die 4 Me last week, wrote on Instagram: “I walked PFW for the first time today with @pressiat_ and it was terrifying and amazing!!!!”

The pop star gave birth to her first child, a boy, back in July 2021 but has bounced right back and is looking better than ever.

Given the success of this modelling stint, more catwalks beckon.

LADY GAGA is planning to retreat from showbiz.

She explained: “I’m interested in living more of a life of solitude.

“It’s really nice to just have time to be alone, and be expansive, and know that you’re enough.”

She added in Wallpaper magazine: “I actually don’t spend a lot of time in Hollywood . . .  I’m very much at home working . . .  that’s the thing that really makes me happy.”

The Ain’t Nobody singer was ranked at No29 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 greatest singers of all time list, and had some choice words for some of the stars ahead of her.

Complaining about the rankings, she referred to the late deaf-blind author Helen Keller by ranting: “These are blind b*****s.

“They are blind as a motherf**king bat. They need hearing aids… These must be the children of Helen Keller.”

Asked about Mariah being at No5, she suggested the star must have paid her way to the position.

Chaka said: “That must be payola or some s**t like that.”

Then when she was told Adele was ahead of her at No22, she threw her hands up and quipped: “OK, I quit.”

But she had nicer things to say about Beyonce, who finished at No8 on the list.

Speaking on The Originals podcast, she added: “I don’t have anything to say about Beyoncé.

“She’s a great singer… She’s got the chops. She does.”

Remind me to never get on her wrong side.

The pair joined Olivia Rodrigo, Lana Del Rey and SZA at the celebration, where Kim was all over another female pop star.

Gushing about Madonna, who introduced Kim’s performance of Unholy with Sam Smith at last month’s Grammy Awards, she said: “I’m such a huge fan.

“I don’t know how good of a friend I can be to her because I’m just like, ‘Confessions and Ray of Light changed my life.’

“Every time I see her, I just talk about her music and how much it means to me, but it’s just been the most incredible thing for me to get respected by Madonna.”

On the prospect of a collaboration, Kim added: “I would die to have Madonna on anything, or be on anything Madonna, so yeah, absolutely.”

The movie sequel to the hit BBC series will be out later this month and although it was originally tipped to be the final instalment of the Luther world, it has opened up some new opportunities.

Idris said: “The Bond series is an incredible staple to the UK and the world, right?

“But Luther could take up some of that real estate.

“It is not about espionage, but it is about how to catch them.

“I think Luther tends to be a little bit more relatable – you know, grounded.

“Hopefully it is the beginning of the new chapter.

“It sounds corny, but you know we have gone from television . . . we have gone as far as we can . . . and now we have got the world as our stage.

“Big epic landscapes and, you know, infinite stories.”

But he is also eyeing up a very different film next.

In an interview with Magic Radio Breakfast which will air from 6am on Monday, Idris explained: “I would love to do a musical.

“I started off, my first semi-professional job was Guys & Dolls and I played Big Jule and I loved it.”

MICHAEL B. JORDAN had plenty to grin about as he received his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The American actor has had an incredible week, as he has also been unveiled as the new face of Calvin Klein and has today released his new film Creed III, which he also directed.

His accolade in Los Angeles was well-deserved, but he admitted he was finding it hard to sink in.

Michael said: “My emotions are actually all over the place, I’m seeing so many people that I want to kind of get to and hug and connect with and show my appreciation.

“I’m also just taking a moment just to be like, ‘Damn. OK, wow, that happened. I’m here!’”

The girl group won the Rising Star prize but there was controversy over no women being nominated in the Artist of the Year category.

On the lack of female nominees, Stella Quaresma said: “It’s just pathetic, because there’s enough women to choose from that we should respect, so it’s just like, why?

“There’s definitely a known annoyance. It’s gonna have to change.”

Jorja Douglas continued: “It’s deep-rooted misogyny because when you see three girls - especially three pretty girls - you think, ‘They don’t really do much; they just stand there and sing with a bit of autotune and they also rely on each other.’

“I think that’s how people perceive girl groups. and in the past, girl groups haven’t written their own music and it has been very manufactured, so I think that’s partly the reason that they haven’t been taken seriously.”

Renee Downer added to ES magazine: “People are surprised to find out that we are involved in every single thing.”

CHRISTINA AGUILERA has admitted to getting facial anti-wrinkle injections.

The Genie In A Bottle singer, who is plugging the brand, said: “I’m always interested in finding new products that excite me and make me feel my best.

“This felt like the safest way to go because it doesn’t have any extra ingredients.

“It’s reassurance that no matter how tired I may be, I have back-up.”

On how she wanted to avoid having a face which doesn’t move, she added: “We like expression, especially in my line of work.

“I don’t want to have a frozen face.

“Whether it’s being on camera or performing on stage, I have to stay authentic to my emotion.”
