A FAN-FAVOURITE I'm A Celebrity star has given a hugely-significant update amid his cancer battle.

Paul Burrell, 64, who appeared on season four of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2004, revealed he was suffering with prostate cancer in January.

The late Princess Diana's butler broke down as he opened up on his diagnosis to TV host Lorraine Kelly.

Yet there is much happier news for Paul, who today told his Instagram fans how he has finished his final course of radiotherapy treatment.

As such, he had the privilege of ringing the bell at The Christie Hospital to signal the end of his time there.

Paul could be seen beaming in his latest Instagram video as he confirmed his final session and said: "I just want to thank all the staff here for their incredible professionalism."

He couldn't help but smile as he gave the silver bell the required three rings.

In his caption he wrote: "The radiotherapy treatment for my prostate cancer is now complete….onwards and upwards!

"I cannot thank the staff at The Christie enough. Their support throughout the process has been absolutely incredible.

"And men over 50, please ask your GP for a PSA test!"

One fan replied: "What a moment!"

A second put: "Great news."

A third then wrote: "Wonderful Paul. Onwards and upwards and beyond."

Paul was previously described by the late Princess Diana as her “rock”.

The former royal servant said he was diagnosed last year when he underwent a medical for I’m A Celebrity All Stars.

He has since told how the spin-off series - to be aired this year - saved his life.

On the Lorraine show, Paul urged viewers to go for a 'simple blood test' which can detect the early signs of prostate cancer.

He added: "There are thousands of men out there who don’t have symptoms like me. I was lucky, they caught it out there.

"You’ve got loads of lovely female viewers who can say to their men, go get tested."

Paul entered the royal service when he was 18 and became the Queen's personal footman a year later.

Paul was inspired to work for the monarchy after a childhood visit to Buckingham Palace from his coal-mining hometown Grassmore, Derbyshire.
