Bitter rivals Jake Paul and Tommy Fury both passed their final drug tests following their grudge fight last month.

Paul suffered the first loss of his professional boxing career when he was beaten by Love Island star Fury in Saudi Arabia. The YouTuber-turned-boxer was edged out by split decision on the night despite scoring a knockdown in the final round, with Fury extending his unbeaten record to nine professional fights with the win.

The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) has now confirmed both men successfully completed their drug-testing programme, tweeting: "Congratulations to Tommy Fury and Jake Paul for successfully completing Vada Testing through their February 2023 bout."

Paul has since come up with a list of excuses for his defeat, insisting that he struggled with illness during his training camp and was thrown off by having a wet dream the night before the fight. "I was sick for four weeks out of this nine-week camp and then was travelling, jet-lagged for another week of that," he said. "That's what's p***ing me off the most, it had nothing to do with him, it had everything to do with me."

Paul and Fury shook hands on a pre-fight bet which would see the loser of their fight walk away with nothing, but Fury refused to sign his end of the deal. Fury's dad John has told Paul to hold up his end of the deal despite his son not signing a contract for the bet, which would have seen Fury walk away with an extra £4million.

Pay-per-view figures for the fight are yet to be released but Paul has insisted they are "off the charts" and is already targeting a second fight against the Brit. "The silver lining is that the pay-per-views are off the charts, it's probably going to be the biggest fight of the year," added Paul. "It's coming in at over half-a-million buys. Business is great, there are still so many names out there for me to fight. Obviously I want to do the rematch with Tommy but all those fights are massive. I've got to go get that back.

"He [Fury] seems very levelheaded and down to earth. We talked a lot of s*** and did a great job promoting it but there was mutual respect there and we hugged. I have respect for the guy, that's the most beautiful thing about this sport. You can be arch-enemies and then find respect for each other after beating the s*** out of each other and going to war."

Fury has opened the door to a fight against Paul's YouTube rival KSI, who insisted he would fight Fury if Paul lost to him. Heavyweight champion Tyson, the brother of Fury, praised both men for the fight and said he would like to see the rematch despite his brother winning the fight.
