However, fans have been left furious after the service took place off screen - with doctors barely mentioning the funeral.

They took to social media to slam show bosses and writers for her final scenes.

One commented: "Please tell me they're not just skimming past Robyn's funeral."

A second said: "An offscreen funeral for a character of 10 years?"

"So we're not getting an on-screen funeral for Robyn then," remarked a third.

While a fourth fumed: "Robyn deserved a better send off!"

Meanwhile, some fans speculated the reason for the no-fuss send off for Robyn was due to previous cast not being able to return for her funeral.

They shared how it would have been too complicated to explain the number of absences.

Barney Walsh, the son of TV star Bradley Walsh, is joining the Casualty line-up as a brand new character in upcoming scenes.

With a famous father perpetually under the limelight, in ITV soap Coronation Street or at the helm in The Chase, it's no wonder the 25-year-old has decided to follow in his footsteps.

After the heart-breaking death of long-standing Holby nurse Robyn Miller (played by Amanda Henderson), producers of the medical drama are filling the void with numerous fresh faces.

The budding actor will join the BBC One soap as accident-prone nurse Cameron, a young man who clearly doesn't have the desirable qualities to work in an ED.
