The pair met and became pals while working on Michelle’s Sky drama Brassic.

Lana, from Luton, said: “Michelle is an absolute dream, she is gorgeous. She's like a real life Disney princess.

“She's such an amazing person inside and out.”

Michelle shared a message of support after Lana was announced as part of the Winter Love Island cast on Monday.

She shared her pal’s official villa snap online and wrote: “So our girl Lana is going into the @loveisland villa. Genuinely one of the nicest girls you’ll ever meet. Go and smash it darlin.”

Lana has also worked on CBBC’s So Awkward, which is how she met her ex-boyfriend, Owen Warner.

She dated the I’m A Celebrity runner-up and Hollyoaks star in 2020.

She was also an extra on ITV comedy Benidorm when she was just six years old.

Lana laughed: “It was the first ever episode, it's literally if you blink you'll miss me.

“But it's like a little me and my little sister just in a queue somewhere. We do watch it sometimes for a laugh.

“I think everyone on the outside will be absolutely buzzing for me.

“My closest people, my family and my best friend, they were all absolutely ecstatic and they’ll be having parties when it starts and stuff like that.

“I had an amazing life before Love Island and I'm sure I'll have an amazing life after and I don't think I have too many expectations.”

Meanwhile Lana has shared how she is hoping to heal her heart in the Love Island villa after her split from Owen two years ago.

Speaking days before she enters the ITV2 villa, Lana said: “I have had one heartbreak which was my last relationship, but I think coming out of that made me a better, stronger person.

“So I don't necessarily think a bad breakup is a bad thing in the long run.

“We’ve both moved on with our lives.

“He probably won't watch, because I wouldn’t watch it if he was on there.”

Asked if she tuned in to see Owen reach the final of I’m A Celebrity, she added: “It's just a bit weird. I just thought you know what, not today.

“It's a bit weird to watch your ex for an hour on telly every evening.”

  • Love Island begins next Monday at 9pm on ITV2.
