He is most famous for founding the religious movement Scientology.

He founded the Church of Scientology a year later.

Hubbard was married three times and had seven children from those three relationships.

He had suffered a stroke the week before, and the effects ultimately led to his demise.

He spent much of his later life in hiding due to the controversy surrounding Scientology.

They had four children together, named Thomas, Quentin, Diana and Suzette.
