Tommy Fury has admitted brother Tyson broke his rib and forced him to pull out of his fight with Jake Paul.
Fury finally settled his rivalry with YouTube star Paul in Saudi Arabia in February winning by split decision after months of trash-talking was finally concluded. The pair eventually touched gloves after a dramatic saga which included two failed fights with Fury unable to compete on both occasions.
The bitter rivals were first set to meet in December 2021 after Paul's split-decision win over Tyron Woodley, but the ex-Love Island star was forced to pull out after breaking a rib. Many suggested that Fury's heavyweight champion brother Tyson was responsible, after footage emerged of the star having a medicine ball crashed on his abdomen during a training drill prior to the bout.
Despite denying the claim for several months, the undefeated professional star has now suggested his body reacted very differently to the famous drill that brother Tyson regularly uses to prepare for heavyweight outings. "I moved on to the medicine ball, you've all seen the video," he said in a YouTube video with strongman Eddie Hall.
"Yeah, bang, the whole left side of my body quivered after it went down. My dad, Tyson, everyone [used the] medicine ball on me... Bit too hardcore yeah. Pounding it on Tyson's stomach and going on to mine is a bit of a difference. Obviously the fight fell through twice, and it started the whole 'Tommy is scared'. That was never the case.
Celeb births to look forward to in 2023 - from soap stars to Love Island winners"All of those reasons why the first fights didn't happen were all legitimate. So to go out there and to put an end to it all and to shut him up once and for all it felt amazing because people don't understand. I saw it myself with him and I said to myself there is no way I can lose it defies all odds."

Fury has now finally settled his grudge with Paul despite the cancellations but could now be thrust back into the ring with the 'Problem Child' again, given his rival has a rematch clause. However it is understood that talks have taken place for a meeting with another influencer in the shape of Paul's bitter rival KSI.
Fury's dad John has revealed a meeting has taken place over a potential showdown, but is unsure if a renewed clash with Paul could be in the frame. Fury Sr said: "Well, no, we aren't sure I have been in talks with the Sauerland brothers about a possible match-up with their man KSI. I had a meeting with them the other day and it went well.
"Let’s see what happens. If it can be done, we will do it. Whoever else wants to box Tommy, ring the number and get in touch. I don’t deal with the Jake Paul rematch, I am on a rest period and I have just left that to my lawyer. But I’m sure if it can be done, we can do it."
