CONOR McGREGOR dropped into Crumlin Boxing Club to catch up with old friends as well as get a workout in.

He's a regular there despite having the wealth to rely solely on his own private gym, having routinely popped by over the years.

The Notorious is continuing to try and get back into top condition as he targets a comeback trail across 2023.

Given his bulked-up frame, it appears he'll be making welterweight his home from now on rather than try and regain the UFC belt at either lightweight or featherweight.

But it's very much up in the air who he'll face upon his return.

Among the names floated is Michael Chandler.

That would surely be a banger of a fight as both men like to trade even though the former Bellator champ does possess a strong wrestling background.

CHANDLER CAN GET BINGED

And while the American boasts incredible athleticism, he's been described as 'hittable' by Dustin Poirier who somewhat surprisingly tipped his nemesis to come out on top were those two to meet.

The Diamond told Bloody Elbow: “I would favour Conor. I think Chandler is very hittable, Conor’s timing.

"We’ll see with the layoff, too. Might be a big factor for Conor. But, yeah, I would pick Conor still in this one.

"Chandler’s hittable. Conor’s longer than him. Chandler slows down.

“You know if he does wrestle heavy to avoid the striking with Conor, he’s going to slow down a bit, and he’ll be more in front of Conor and able to get touched.

"I would put money on Conor if the fight happens. Not that I can; I can’t bet. I can’t bet MMA.”

As for when fans can expect to see McGregor back in the octagon?

In an Instagram Live back in October, he suggested it wouldn't be long into 2023.

He said: "I'm going to be back soon, hopefully.

"Early 2023 I'm aiming for. Sometime in that first quarter.

"That will give me a good couple of months [to prepare].

"Once I wrap this [filming for Road House] up in a couple of days, get the camp going [for] a good couple of months.

"And get going."
