Singer Kelly Clarkson has dealt a brutal blow to her ex husband Brandon Blackstock via some new lyrics to some well known songs.
Clarkson, 40, appeared to make the public dig to her ex as she performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show and sang a cover of Gayle's song abcdefu.
Viewers believe the dig was aimed at Blackstock and his father Narvel Blackstock.
The blow comes as Kelly continues to be locked in a fierce legal battle with her ex's family despite settling her divorce to Blackstock last year. Her former father-in-law's company was previously her management company, until her marriage broke down and she stepped away.
Performing on her chat show, Kelly belted out: "Forget you and your dad and the fact that you got half and my broken heart, turn that s**t into art."
Why Blake Shelton left The Voice, explainedThe words were a departure from the original lyrics, which are: "[Expletive] you and your mum and your sister and your job and your broke-a** car and that s**t you call art."
Yet Kelly didn't just change the lyrics once during her performance, she also repeated her point as she repeated her altered lyrics in place of the song's original chorus.
The change did not go unnoticed by viewers and fans of the star.
One fan commented on YouTube: "Kelly is putting Narvel and Brandon on some serious blast."
A second said on Twitter: "Oh she real mad at Br*ndon!!"
"The finger listing at the end, all the eyebrow-raising…we see and hear you @kellyclarkson," added a third.
Clarkson and Blackstock separated in 2020, with their divorce finalised two years later in 2022. However the US Pop Idol singer is now locked in a fierce legal battle against her former father-in-law's company Starstruck Entertainment.
The company managed her for over a decade, but shortly after her divorce she was hit with legal claims from Starstruck Entertainment alleging that she owed them $1.4 million and a further $5.4 million in future commissions.
The latest legal blow comes after a difficult divorce which has seen Clarkson and Blackstock fight bitterly over their two children; daughter River, eight, and son Remington, six.
The divorce settlement decreed that Clarkson must pay her children's father $115,000 each month until January 2024. This is on top of the $45,601 a month Blackstock receives in child support, even though Clarkson has primary custody of their two children.
