According to Marca, Ofer purchased the trophy at a charity event in London back in 2017.

The sum went towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation for kids with Ronaldo personally asking for the golden gong to be auctioned.

He wasn't in attendance at the event so agent Jorge Mendes handed out the accolade.

It was the second of five times Ronaldo won football's top individual prize with the most recent coming in 2017.

That was during a 10-year period when only he and great rival Lionel Messi won the prestigious award.

Ronaldo didn't manage to win any silverware with Real Madrid in 2013 as Barcelona were dominating Spanish football, while Bayern Munich won the Champions League.

But the 37-year-old was still producing incredible numbers on a personal level.

That was an enormous 24 more than Messi, while he also chipped in with 15 assists.
