EA Sports confirmed earlier today that FIFA 23's online services were down for maintenance, but all online game modes are now available once again.
The scheduled downtime impacted FIFA 23 players on all platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X |S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, with EA Sports confirming that matchmaking and online services would be disabled for a handful of hours. Players didn't get much notice about the downtime, with EA confirming the disruption via their FIFA Direct Communications social channels just one hour before the downtime began.
The FIFA 23 maintenance started at 7am GMT / 2am EDT / 11pm PDT and was scheduled to last until 12pm GMT / 7am EDT / 4am PDT, a whopping five hours of downtime for online services. It looked like FIFA 23 players could still access the FUT Web App and the FUT Companion Mobile App, but players were unable to log into Ultimate Team and play matches, whether that be Division Rivals or other modes.
"We have a scheduled maintenance on April 19, 6 AM - 11 AM UTC," read a statement via the FIFA Direct Communications Twitter account.
"During this time, you may be disconnected from or unable to access online services. Match creation will be disabled 30 min prior to the maintenance. Titles impacted: FIFA 18 - 23 on all platforms"
Ronaldo’s FIFA 23 rating slashed after departure from Manchester UnitedIt wasn't just Ultimate Team either, with all game modes that required a connection to online services also unavailable to access, so modes like Online Seasons, Pro Clubs and other modes were also down for the amount of time EA confirmed. FIFA 23 players had every right to be skeptical about the original downtime announced by EA, as we've seen previous periods of downtime be extended past the scheduled maintenance, sometimes by a few hours.
But, the publisher kept to their word, and at exactly 2pm GMT / 7am EDT / 4am PDT, all online features in FIFA 23 were made available to play once again. We aren't sure what issues EA was fixing during that time, but there seem to be no new issues since the servers were made available again.
