McDonald's unveils major January sale with £1.49 deals landing on Monday

McDonald's has finally revealed why it changed its logo a few days ago, and posted a cryptic Instagram post featuring the start of a song – and it turns out it's not a permanent design swap.

The fast food chain can now reveal it's launching a brand-new campaign called Raise Your Arches – and to celebrate Maccies has shared some 'eyebrow-raising' tasty deals and discounts.

The TV advert, which features Yello's Oh Yeah soundtrack, features a 'secret code' for when you fancy a McDonald's, without having to say a word.

To help you beat the January Blues, McDonald's is providing customers with a series of tasty deals every day from January 16 to 27, and they will all be available exclusively on the fast food chain's app.

The first offer, on Blue Monday itself (January 16), Maccie's customers will be able to get a core item, such as Big Mac or Quarter Pounder, for only £1.49.

Michelle Graham-Clare, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald's UK & Ireland, said: "In a challenging time, our Raise Your Arches invitation to McDonald's provides the nation with a small but much-needed moment to let go and feel good. We hope the campaign raises arches and smiles across the country and I can't wait to see everyone get involved."

McDonald's also recently launched several new menu items as part of a shake-up to start off the new year, including a new wrap called the Spicy Sriracha Chicken One, Aero McFlurries, and Cheesy Garlic Bites.

The new items landed in restaurants on January 4, but the fast food chain's additions were met with some controversy, as it also signalled the removal of December's festive menu items - including the fan-favourite potato waffles.

The waffles were added to the menu as a hash brown alternative for those who love a Maccies breakfast but were ditched earlier this month in order to make way for the new menu items, which are available until February 14.

In addition to the new Big Flavour Wrap, those taking part in Veganuary will be able to get their hands on a bigger and better version of the eatery's vegan burger, the McPlant, this month - as it also announced the launch of the Double McPlant.
