SEAMUS COLEMAN has issued an update on the nasty looking-knee injury during Everton's clash with Leicester.

The Republic of Ireland international landed awkwardly on his right leg in the first half of Sean Dyche's 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium.

The full-back jarred his knee after vying for the ball with Boubakary Soumare and ended up leaving the field of play on a stretcher before being rushed to the hospital.

Toffees fans feared the worst for their skipper.

But they'll be boosted by the news he HASN'T suffered any anterior cruciate ligament damage.

He wrote on his private Instagram: “Just wanted to update you all, thanks so much for all the well wishes.

"Just back from my scan & pleased to say I have no ACL damage. Be back soon."

Everton fans were overjoyed by the news, with one tweeting: "Brilliant news."

Another said: "Our Captain. Our Leader. Our Legend. Our Seamus."

And another said: "Made of different stuff him."

One remarked: "Great news."

Another chimed in: "Made up for him legend!!"

Some of the Goodison Park faithful thought the injury could bring about the end of Coleman's career.

One said: "Pretty heartbreaking for Seamus Coleman this. Could be the end of his career."

Another added: "Could be the end of Seamus Coleman’s career.

"We’ll never see a better duo than Baines and Coleman."

And a third replied: "Heartbreaking for Seamus Coleman who goes off with what looks like a bad injury.

"Has shown improved form with club and country this season. At 34, fingers crossed it’s not the end."

Coleman was signed by Everton boss David Moyes way back in 2009.

He has gone on to play more than 400 times for the Merseyside outfit.

The full-back has also racked up 68 caps for Ireland.
