SON HEUNG-MIN is adamant that Tottenham can still win the Premier League.

Spurs have played a game more than table-topping bitter rivals Arsenal and sit 11 points behind.

But the gap will reduce to eight with victory in Sunday’s home North London derby — and Son, 30, insists the title is still up for grabs.

The striker said: “We don’t prioritise the cups. The Premier League is long and something can always happen. Even Chelsea and Liverpool are pushing.

“There are so many games. We still believe in [winning the league] because this is a group of positive players.

“We should give everything we have but obviously the Champions League and FA Cup are really important for the club, players and fans.”

Out of form and devoid of confidence, Son ended an eight-game goalless run with Tottenham’s fourth in the 4-0 win at Crystal Palace just over a week ago.

But with 60 points still up for grabs, derby victory could fuel belief Antonio Conte’s men can catch the Gunners.

Son added: “The North London derby is special. It has a huge meaning for the players but especially for fans.

“We will throw our bodies on the line and give everything to win.”

Meanwhile, Tottenham defender Ben Davies has praised Arsenal for sticking by boss Mikel Arteta during tougher times — and insisted their stellar season has  motivated Spurs.

The Gunners have dropped just seven points from 17 league games.

But it was a different story at the start of last season when three league defeats from the off left them rock bottom and some fans calling for the Spaniard’s head.

Welshman Davies, 29, said: “What Arteta has done has been very good.

“But I’m sure there were very tough times for him when things weren’t going their way.

“So credit to the club for sticking by him, it seems to be paying dividends.”

While Arsenal have been almost flawless this term, Spurs are hit and miss.

They are fifth in the league and through to the Champions League last 16 but performances have been found wanting at times.

On watching their neighbours shine, Davies added: “It’s extra motivation. They’re playing well and look a very good side.

“They’re giving every team tough games — hopefully we’re there or thereabouts at the end of the season.”
