Canelo Alvarez will defend his undisputed titles against British star John Ryder tonight in Mexico.
The Mexican star will make a homecoming on familiar soil when he looks to retain his undisputed 168lb titles against British contender Ryder. It will be a first fight for several months for Alvarez, who will be hoping that he can record a statement win to set up a potential second meeting with Dmitry Bivol. He could also be challenged by David Benavidez who is expected to be in line for a shot at the crown if Alvarez wins again.
Ryder will be hoping to put in a historic British performance on enemy territory, to become undisputed champion and shock the world given how hard he has worked to move up the ranks and earn his shot.

When is Canelo Alvarez v John Ryder and what time does it start in the UK?
Alvarez's meeting with Ryder will commence in the early hours of Sunday May 7 at a sold-out Akron Stadium in Guadalajara. Action will get underway with a large undercard unfolding at 12am at the turn of the Sunday [UK time], before the main event ring walks can be expected at around 4am in the UK.

The action will be broadcast exclusively live on streaming service DAZN in the UK and and around the world with the broadcast set to get underway at 12am on British shores.
