Jake Paul's coach Shane Mosley believes mental health struggles contributed to his loss against Tommy Fury.
YouTube star Paul has been plying his trade in the boxing ring, but suffered a significant setback having lost to bitter rival Fury in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. The 'Problem Child' initially suggested the better man won, but was accused of making excuses after suggesting he was ill throughout his pre-fight training camp.
It was expected that he would potentially move into an immediate revenge mission having given his reasons for the defeat, but a rematch will have to wait after he announced an alternative fight against Nate Diaz. However his coach Mosley has since shed new light on the reasons for his loss, insisting he will now learn from his mistakes.
"There is some stuff that you learn back at the beginning which causes you to create bad habits," Mosley said during an appearance on The DAZN Boxing Show when discussing Paul's defeat to Fury. "I think they created some bad habits in his style of fighting. But I think they are now being corrected. If he has to lose this is a good way of doing it.
"He can learn and make himself better. I think that fight for one he wasn't feeling good, two he had some mental things going on in his life that probably shouldn't happen to a boxer who has been fighting for only three years. All of the stuff on the shoulders, there is a lot of stuff that at play that didn't make him perform at the one hundred per cent he should have.

Paul did admit following the showdown that he was impressed with his rival's boxing skills, but revenge remains on his mind despite accepting an alternative fight against Diaz. The 'Problem Child' can take positivity from his performance having dropped his rival in the final round who was sent off balance by his shot.
He will now need to move on from his defeat to Fury, with a loss to ex-UFC star Diaz potentially pulling down a curtain on his boxing career. However the 26-year-old still believes a rematch with the British star is inevitable due to the success of their first meeting. "It's going to happen, it's going to happen for sure," Paul told Sky Sports.
"I think it was a great fight, it was entertaining, it was the biggest pay-per-view buys in boxing for the last two years so I think we have to run it back. Tommy is down and I'm excited for that. It's annoying, I think in boxing fighters are not willing to risk their undefeated record and put it all on the line."
