MANCHESTER UNITED are odds-on favourites to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've installed Erik ten Hag's side at 4/5 to clinch the Frenchman's signature before the transfer window closes in September.

The Red Devils are preparing for a busy summer of recruitment with Champions League football expected to return to Old Trafford next season.

And manager Erik ten Hag is desperate to sign an experienced, combative midfield player ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

French newspaper L'Equipe claim Rabiot has been identified as an "important target" for United, who tried and failed to sign the 28-year-old last year.

But that may well have been a stroke of luck given the player is available on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.

Rabiot has enjoyed a profitable campaign in Italy, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 44 appearances for Juventus.

And his exploits have some of Europe's biggest club's monitoring his availability.

Liverpool are one of those clubs, according to Betfair. Jurgen Klopp's side want to bolster their midfield ranks and are 3/1 to lure Rabiot to Anfield.

Newcastle and Chelsea follow at 6/1 and 10/1 respectively, while a sensational return to Paris Saint-Germain is the least likely scenario at 12s.

Rabiot has previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, and believes the style of play would suit his play.

He said: "I don't have a favourite team, there isn't really a club where I would necessarily like to play. It is above all the league and its level that attract me.

"I also think that the way of playing there matches my qualities more."
