Dwyane Wade has opened up about why he and his wife Gabrielle Union have made the decision to split their finances equally.
The former NBA star, 41, married the 50-year-old actress back in 2014 and they both decided to sign a prenup, but have since agreed to split their finances equally.
Explaining their agreement, Dwyane said it came about following a flippant comment he made to his wife about the home they shared in Miami.
"I said something about it being my house that I paid for. My wife looked at me and said, 'You will never say that to me again when it's something that we share.
"So when we moved to LA, my wife said, 'I got half on it you will never say my house again," he said during an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

"So the whole 50/50 concept, so understand what 50/50 means. 50/50 means that everything in life, you got your half and I got my half, we gonna put this s**t together to try and make a hundred."
Dwyane continued: "Let's say I have 20 to 50 responsibilities and my wife has 20 to 50 responsibilities and when I say that, that means she has her mother, she has her sisters, she has her dad so she has a lot of things she's responsible for.
"You know what she does? She pays 100% of that and you know what I do? I pay 100% of my life."
When it comes to their daughter Kaavia, who the couple welcomed via surrogate in November 2018, Dwyane said: "Anything that goes on with our daughter, 50/50 we share it together."
"We decided that certain pieces of our life, we would share in it," he added.
The athlete also spoke about his and Gabrielle's decision to sign prenups in their marriage.
"I told her the same way, 'I'll sign a prenup too. You're a millionaire, you got money. You work hard for yourself'," he said.
