A CONTROVERSIAL ex This Morning star has thrown her support behind former show hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

Katie Hopkins, who used to be a sofa regular on the ITV show, dished out her brutal opinion on Phillip Schofield being axed.

Katie, 48, took to Instagram to react to the news after Phillip, 61, confirmed he was stepping back from This Morning.

Tensions between Phil and Holly Willoughby had been rising ahead of the announcement on social media yesterday.

The TV presenter was given the chop minutes after coming off air on Thursday — coldly denying him the chance of a farewell to fans.

He was pulled into an office with show chief Martin Frizzell and told his contract due to end this summer, was not being renewed.

Reacting to the news, Katie released a video to her Instagram fans as she threw her support behind Eamonn, 63, and Ruth, also 63.

She hit out that Phil had been "ejected" from This Morning as she gushed over the husband and wife pair for "calling out his behaviour" before leaving This Morning in 2021.

"He's been forced out at ITV, they say he quit but of course he was ejected from the aircraft at some speed," Katie hit out.

"You can expect to see some things now - you can expect him well and truly thrown under the bus. He's been told he will be given other projects but, none of those will be happening.

"Expect to see brand Willoughby go into overdrive to distance her from Schofield - she will never speak his name again."

Katie went on: "We can expect to see Ruth and Eamonn receive no credit whatsoever for being the ones to call out behaviour that everybody at ITV knew.

"Because they said what they knew, they were kicked off of This Morning and kicked out of ITV, so good on you Ruth and Eamonn."

Eamonn has had a long-running behind-the-scenes feud with Phil, with the star making several digs at his former colleague.

Yesterday, he broke his silence as he celebrated a "good day", following the axing of Phillip from the ITV show.

The presenter previously liked a post on Twitter shared by a fan which showed himself and wife Ruth Langsford dancing around the This Morning studio.

He also liked a tweet where someone said the channel "shafted’ him and wife Ruth Langsford from the presenter's hot seat.

The tweet read: "IMO one of the worst things they did was to shaft Ruth and Eamonn so that's a drama alone."

He also waded in on the This Morning feud as he called former co-hosts Holly and Phil a "broken fit".

While speaking about the pair missing the BAFTA TV Awards, he said: "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.”

Eamonn was a presenter on This Morning from 2006 to 2021.

Tensions soared between Phil and Eamonn's wife and fellow presenter Ruth Langsford, when Phil cut her off during a segment on Loose Women.

Furious, Ruth launched an official complaint to ITV over his behaviour, and eight other employees told us that the host was "toxic".
