CORONATION Street's Faye Windass has tackled some challenging storylines including teenage pregnancy and early menopause.
But after more than 12 years on the Cobbles, is the character's time on the ITV soap coming to an end?
Is Faye Windass leaving Coronation Street?
Faye (played by Ellie Louise Leach) has been written out of upcoming Corrie plotlines and her last scenes will air on the ITV soap sometime in July.
According to the report, Ellie has decided to leave the soap to pursue other opportunities elsewhere.
A source told Radio Times: “Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family.

"She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off.
She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit.”
The much-loved character is due for an explosive exit which will involve some shocking twists and turns involving betrayal, blackmail and heartbreak.
Speaking to The Sun and other press, the actress previously opened up about her time in the Manchester-based soap as "the best years" of her life.
"It's been the best experience. I can't thank everyone here enough. Everyone's always made me feel so welcome. It's just been so lovely. I've honestly loved it. It's been the best years of my life."
Who plays Faye Windass?
Ellie Louise Leach is a 22-year-old actor, from Bury in Greater Manchester.
She began playing Faye when she was 10 years old in 2011.
Prior to appearing on the soap, Ellie appeared in a 2009 drama film A Boy Called Dad.
Many people may not know that the actress has a famous relative who is also a Coronation Street favourite.
Her cousin Brooke Vincent is known to Corrie fans for playing Sophie Webster.

Ellie was previously loved-up with her boyfriend Reagan Pettman.
Reagan is also an actor and he's a model, influencer and a dancer.
The pair regularly shared cute snaps of themselves together, however, all the pictures have since been deleted.
The actress does not have any children.
