And Malone accused the media of not focusing on his team advancing and spending too much time on the Lakers getting eliminated.
After the series, James had a cryptic post-game interview followed by subliminal tweets about retiring from the NBA.

"I got a lot to think about," the NBA superstar said after being swept by Denver.
"Just personally, with me moving forward with the game of basketball, I got a lot to think about."
However, the announcement timing couldn't have sat worst for Malone.
"Speaking of the Lakers, I just want you guys to know — this is breaking news."
"I'm thinking about retiring, so don't tell anybody," Malone joked Wednesday on the "Pat McAfee Show."
Malone was adamant throughout the playoffs that the national media needed to cover the Nuggets more adequately.
During the Lakers series, he voiced his displeasure.
"The frustration of that series of against the Lakers is, we win Game 1 against the Lakers, and the headlines are 'Lakers figure out Nuggets,' and we're up 1-0!" Malone voiced.
"You win the series, and the narrative is the Lakers, Lakers, Lakers. I think we've done enough to hopefully put the Denver Nuggets in people's minds and their hearts."

He wore a "Put this in your pipe and smoke it" T-shirt, referring to his exchange with reporters following that Game 1 win over the Lakers.
