In the build-up to the big event, Mexican sport is in chaos as several athletes have been left without their monthly payments.

This is due to a dispute between World Aquatics and Ana Guevara, the head of the country's national sports commission.

It comes after president of the Mexican federation Kiril Todorov was suspended for not complying with good governance standards.

Balleza was left needing to fund training and his Olympic dream himself.

The 28-year-old chose to stay in his small swimming trunks and turn to explicit site OnlyFans to bring in cash.

Balleza told the Associated Press: "It occurred to me to open it because you are always looking for a way to make income.

"I support my house and my mother, and I have bills to pay, and you can upload whatever you want in there, it's a valid content.

"'I am happy that the people who are in my page have been very good and respectful, I hope they continue like this."

Balleza came fourth in the synchronised ten-metre platform in the last Olympics in Tokyo.

And he now charges a monthly fee of £11.70 for access to his snaps.

The athlete aims to cover the £1350 he receives in funding and has so far had 14,000 interactions from followers on OnlyFans.

Balleza said: "The money I now receive is very volatile, but it has served me well so far."
