We all know that fake tanning is a better alternative to going on sunbeds, but one woman has left people in shock after sharing just how much tan she applies - despite the fact she also visits sunbeds.

Some social media users have begged Savannah Grace, 20, to "stop", accusing her of wearing "blackface."

Savannah has been using sunbeds for three years, but also applies fake tan every evening, and tops up her tan whenever she needs to in order to keep the colour even.

And despite the negative comments online and in public, she loves the way she looks.

Savannah shared the before and after results on TikTok where she was called out for her excessive tanning.

"I try not to read comments as much as possible", Savannah, a nurse assistant from Georgia, US, said.

"There have been many negative comments but I do what makes me happy for me either way.

"I love tanning and being outside; I tan after workouts, before bed, in the mornings, I love the way I look when I tan."

But despite her defending herself and having a thick skin, negative comments roll in.

One fumed: "For you not to delete the video after being called out for blackface is kinda wild."

"You aren't supposed to take a bath in the bronzer", another raged.

"WHY?", someone asked, whilst a TikToker said: "Girl no, stop that tanning."

However, some came out to defend Savannah, stating that they "didn't get it", because she's "beautiful" without all the tan.

"People just love dragging down others, don't listen honey, you're beautiful", someone else shared.

Savannah added: "My tanning has never been something that has ever caused an issue in real life so why let the internet change that.

"I tan for me and I'm 100% confident in who I am and what I look like and if anyone feels any different about how I look that's on them."

The British Association of Dermatologists advises that people should not use sunbeds or sunlamps. Sunbeds and lamps can be more dangerous than natural sunlight because they use a concentrated source of UV radiation.
