"Completely neglected to post this at the time but it was a HUGE moment for me and I was truly honoured to have been included for the longlist for the 2022 BIFA Breakthrough Performance," Alexander wrote in an Instagram post.
Followers swarmed over to the comment section, praising the actor for his work.
One penned: "I loved the movie and its actors are still very handsome but I still think that the actors are posing as gay but they are not. Is it my doubt?"
Alexander took it upon himself to talk about his own sexuality as a response.
"Thanks so much", he replied, "really appreciate it!!!! And no, I'm not straight."
A handful of fans were delighted to know more about Alexander's personal life, which he tends to keep under wraps.
Another follower was even moved by Alexander opening up.
"I know this may sound dumb, but thank you for saying this. I'd already read elsewhere that you'd already said it and it wasn't exactly a secret or anything, but seeing you say it here on Instagram means a lot more than you know", they commented.

Alexander often shares snaps of his life behind the cameras as speculation around a potential return to the eponymous village grows.
But, in October, 2021, he sent his fans into a frenzy when he was seen cosying up to a sultry brunette called Shar Holliday.
