Authorities have apprehended Bryant "Eduardo" Rivera, a suspected serial killer often compared to the notorious Ted Bundy, following an alleged years-long killing spree.
Rivera, 30, was arrested outside Los Angeles on Thursday, more than a year after he allegedly murdered three sex workers in Mexico.
Baja California’s attorney general described Rivera as a suspected “serial killer” and said in a news release that he is “presumed to be the perpetrator of three femicides” in Tijuana between September 2021 and February 2022.
He is expected to be extradited to Baja California in the coming days.
Bryant Rivera has drawn comparisons to the infamous Ted Bundy, who terrorized the nation during the 1970s with his abduction, rape, and murder of numerous young women and girls.
Gangsters ‘call for ceasefire’ after deadly Christmas Eve pub shootingAuthorities have been tirelessly searching for Rivera since November 2022, believing him to be a serial killer responsible for multiple heinous crimes.
According to a federal complaint, despite being wanted for three murders in Mexico, Rivera has currently only been charged with one murder by US officials.
Investigators allege that he strangled Ángela Carolina Acosta Flores to death on January 24, 2022, in a hotel room near a bar in Tijuana, where he allegedly encountered the victim.
Rivera is believed to have frequented the Hong Kong Bar for several months, where he is accused of killing another prostitute before targeting Ángela,
Surveillance footage reportedly captured Rivera and Ángela entering a nearby hotel around 10:15 pm. However, Rivera was seen leaving the hotel alone approximately an hour and a half later.
Concerned for Ángela's safety, her mother and boyfriend attempted to contact her but received no response. Unfortunately, the hotel staff did not open the door until noon the following day, as reported by KTLA.
Tragically, when Ángela's lifeless body was discovered, Rivera had already returned to the United States, with surveillance footage from the San Ysidro Port of Entry showing him entering the country a mere 13 minutes after leaving the hotel.
It is suspected that Rivera may have taken Ángela'sphone, as its last known location was traced to Riverside, about 114 miles north of Tijuana.
Witnesses were able to identify Rivera as the last person seen with Ángela, although he had used the alias "Eduardo" when interacting with her and checking into the hotel room. Investigators have also spoken to another sex worker who revealed that Rivera had taken her to a hotel room for a "service" just a few hours prior to Flores' alleged murder.
In another shocking development, it is believed that Rivera returned to the Hong Kong Bar approximately one month after allegedly killing Ángela and is suspected of killing another dancer.

Bryant Rivera has drawn comparisons to the infamous Ted Bundy, who terrorized the nation during the 1970s with his abduction, rape, and murder of numerous young women and girls.
Bundy was ultimately executed in 1989, having been convicted of 20 murders, although he confessed to 30 and is believed to have committed even more.
Rivera is expected to appear in federal court on Monday for a detention hearing as legal proceedings commence to address the alleged crimes committed during his disturbing and tragic years-long killing spree.
