CLARE Balding's new Channel 5 show featured a surprise last minute shake-up for the programme's final episode.

The TV presenter, 52, has been fronting the brand new live programme that is all about reuniting missing and stolen dogs with their owners.

However, the show underwent a huge change for its final episode.

Previously titled Lost Dogs Live with Clare Balding, the programme adopted a brand new title for the final edition of the series.

The show is now named 'Lost Dog, Found Dog with Clare Balding'.

Channel 5 bosses likely made the switch after Clare revealed that a number of dogs that had been featured throughout the series had now been thankfully reunited with their owners.

Despite the switch, Clare appeared to forget the show's new title multiple times as she continually referred to the show by its former name.

When welcoming fans back from the advert break, she said: "Welcome back to Lost Dogs Live."

Clare delved into a number of case studies of dogs that members of the public had managed to track down following their appeals for information.

It is the latest in a string of quick turn-around programmes on Channel 5 about discovering the whereabouts of someone or something live.

The slate of programming launched with Dan Walker's one-off 'Nicola Bulley Live' special before landing a full missing people spin-off as well as another one-off show about the location of the recent missing submarine.

Clare's latest show follows suit but is all about locating missing dogs up and down the country.

However, some fans have been left branding the show "utter madness" since it made its debut.

Writing online about Channel 5's latest programme, one fan did not hold back as they said: "This UTTER MADNESS is currently live on Channel 5.

"Clare Balding doing her best here in fairness.

"It’s like Crimewatch for Dogs. Recreations. Dramatic music. Breathy narration. Dog Drone Unit. It’s wonderful. And entirely ludicrous."
