Meghan 'not fooling anyone' as she breaks silence after Harry split claims

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have broken their cover following claims their marriage was on the rocks but old pal Lizzie Cundy believes she's not fooling anybody.

In recent weeks, reports emerged suggesting that the couple who married in 2018 were living separate lives, with Harry allegedly staying at home in Montecito, while Meghan enjoyed time in Los Angeles with her pals. Sources close to Harry and Meghan denied the rumours saying they were "literally made up".

But following weeks of pressure on their marriage, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex broke their cover in a video shared on their Archewell Foundation website. In the video, the pair phoned award winners from the Youth Power Fund advisory committee to personally congratulate them.

Despite sitting close to one another and putting on a united front, Lizzie, who befriended Meghan in 2013 believes this was timed perfectly. Speaking to the Mirror, the model said: "What a surprise, Meghan and Harry having a photoshoot together and patting themselves on the back for giving one of their Archewell awards to the youth. Of course, they are, let's be honest – they're not fooling anybody.

"They've reportedly been living very separate lives, Meghan has been unusually quiet for a very, very long time. She let her husband go to his own father's Coronation on his own knowing that there was so much upset between him and his brother. They haven't been seen together for months and now rumours are circulating and people are backtracking from their lives, they're suddenly pictured looking happier than ever and doing good and giving awards to the youth."

TalkTV presenter Lizzie continued: "I'm sorry it doesn't fool anyone, particularly not me. I wish and hope they could be honest and normal and try and mend the bridges with the Royal Family as well as her own and just start being a normal couple. If they didn't want publicity, why are they courting it? I believe this is a publicity stunt – I love that they're doing stuff to help the youth but that's what they should stick to doing. Maybe they could have made that call without the camera crew."

In recent days, the couple have been surrounded by drama following reports that Meghan had accused Victoria and David Beckham of leaking stories about her. Now, it's claimed the power couple have distanced themselves from the couple who left the UK in favour of a life in Montecito, California.

Harry reportedly confronted David over the allegations, with a source telling The Sun in 2020: "Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified. He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on - but it certainly made things awkward for a while. It later turned out that the leak probably came from a beauty salon."
