Sergio Reguilon might have been a forgotten man at Tottenham last season but he's certainly not been ignored by teammates after returning this summer.

Reguilon, 26, signed from Real Madrid three years ago but fell out of favour under Antonio Conte, and was duly sent to Atletico Madrid on loan for the 2022/23 campaign. However, he endured an injury plagued season in La Liga, making just 12 appearances amid being plagued by hamstring and groin problems.

The Spaniard duly returned to north London in June as he bids to force his way into the plans of new boss Ange Postecoglou. The Aussie boss has signed a two-year deal at the club, and has been given licence to rebuild after an underwhelming eighth placed finish last time around.

And Reguilon's return has been marked, quite literally, by centre back Cristian Romero.

It appears the Argentine star caused an injury to his teammate during his first week back at the club, with fans able to assess the damage on social media.

In an Instagram story clip, Reguilon is seen with a deep cut on his left shin, with blood clearly running down his leg from. He then pans the camera to accuse Romero of doing the damage as the latter tries to walk away, albeit seemingly in good humour.

The caption with the clip reads: "Cuti is back @CutiRomero." For good measure, Reguilon also added an emoji of a skull into he mix, teasing that Romero left him in perilous danger - although Reguilon clearly recovered in time to make it onto the plane for the tour.

Spurs will play their first game in Perth on Tuesday, taking on London rivals West Ham. They will then head to Thailand and Singapore for clashes with Leicester and Lion City respectively.

Following the tour, the Premier League side will play Shakhtar Donetsk on August 6 and then head to Spain to face Barcelona in the Joan Gamper trophy at the Montjuic on August 8. Postecoglou's first Premier League clash in charge will be a trip to Brentford on Sunday, August 13.

Another star who also jetted off was striker Harry Kane, despite mounting speculation over a move to Bayern Munich. Hugo Lloris however, has been permitted to stay at home to sort out his future.
