TOM Brittney has spoken out about his replacement after quitting Grantchester.
It was revealed earlier this week that Tom will be leaving the ITV show and his role as Will Davenport after filming series nine.
Tom wished the new Vicar Alphy Kotteram, who will be played by former Hollyoaks actor Rishi Nair 'all the best.'
Tom reposted on his Instagram story his recent statement, and on top of it, he wrote: "Wishing @rishinair all the best in joining the Grantchester family. You're going to love him."
Rishi replied back to him on his own Instagram story. He replied: "Thank you so much, Tom! Huge boots to fill."

Co-star Robson Green, who played Tom's partner in crime Geordie Keating also wrote an emotional goodbye to Tom on his Instagram story.
He posted: "There are no goodbyes for best friends! The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again. I will miss you more than you can imagine, Tom."
He followed it with another post where he is pictured with Rishi happily looking at the camera. He wrote at the top of the post: "Stoked to have @rishinair joining the Grantchester family. You're going to love it!
The newly announced star of the show seemed excited about taking on the new role. He reposted the same picture of him and Robson Green and penned: "Been hard to keep this one quiet! So excited to get started."
ITV reported his shock exit recently and confirmed that the star will be " focus on his own projects."
Tom has been working on his new short film based on true events called "Tom" Fans seemed excited in the comments to support his latest project.
