SHEFFIELD UNITED are weighing up a move for Nottingham Forest outcast Jonjo Shelvey.
The former Newcastle and Liverpool midfielder has been left out of the Forest party travelling to Spain next week for a pre-season training camp.

But he was left out of the squad for Forest’s final seven games of the season following a row about being left on the bench for the game against Liverpool.
While Forest are looking to move players on after their massive spree last year, Sheffield United are looking for recruits as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.

Shelvey could be available for a relatively small fee, despite having two years left on his deal at the City Ground.
The ex-England international is thought to be on about £70,000 per week at Forest, who would be glad to remove that burden from their wage bill.
Since joining Forest, Shelvey has only appeared in eight games.
He has an plethora of Premier League experience which could be invaluable to Heckingbottom's newly-promoted side.

This being said, a number of the stars who were with the club when they were last in the top flight in the 2020/21 season are still present.
That year they finished bottom on just 23 points after scoring a measly 20 goals.
They also had a record-breaking start to the season which saw them hit the most consecutive games without a win to start a season - 17.
