Linda Nolan has thrown her support on her sister Coleen after it was revealed the Loose Women star is battling cancer.
The 64-year-old former singer has battled cancer herself having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and defeating the disease in 2011 - only to be diagnosed with brain cancer which she is currently fighting.
On Monday, 58-year-old Coleen bravely revealed she had been diagnosed with skin cancer - with basal cell carcinoma on her shoulder and melanoma on her face.
The star spoke out on ITV’s lunchtime chat show Loose Women where she discussed her symptoms, diagnosis and treatments.
Coleen’s elder sister Linda was left impressed by the brave report that Coleen gave - and urged others to also take their health concerns seriously.
Helen Skelton's family 'chaos' to Phillip Schofield's fancy soirée on NYETaking to Twitter, Linda wrote: “Very proud of my little sis. She acted on her instincts, found something amiss and got it checked.”
She added: “If you spot something out of the ordinary for you, PLEASE get it checked. Don’t be frightened.”
The Nolan sisters have a long history of battling cancer among their family.
Linda underwent a single mastectomy in order to battle breast cancer following her 2006 diagnosis - and was given the all clear in 2011.
But earlier this year the star revealed she had been diagnosed with brain cancer which she is currently being treated for.
Meanwhile 72-year-old older sister Anne Nolan has beaten cancer twice - being given the all clear for a second time in 2022.
The singer admitted she worries the disease could return while giving an interview where she was highlighting a charity walk she was undertaking to raise funds for cancer fighting charities.
She said: I worry. Whenever anything happens whenever I get a slight twinge anywhere my first thought is ‘oh hell I wonder is that the cancer coming back?’
"I remember 20 years ago, I had the same worry and after a little while, after a couple of years, it started depleting and I didn’t worry so much.
"The first couple of years, you just think that every time something happens, you get a twinge or you get.. even if you bang your leg and you forget.. anything and I think 'oh my God that’s the cancer coming back' but then it depletes after a while and you think it’s not the cancer, I banged my leg and I’ve got a bruise on my leg.
Stacey Solomon explains real reason she kept pregnancy secret for 8 months“But in the first few years, it is so hard to get your mind around all of that. But you do eventually. I did the first time. I’m going through that process now, trying not to think that everything that hurts is cancer.
“I know eventually that will go and I’ll start to just forget about it."
Tragically, Bernie Nolan died aged 52 in 2013 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010.
After initially beating the disease in 2012, the cancer returned later that same year and the singer passed away at home less than a year later.
Coleen revealed on Loose Women that she had a small red spot of skin on her shoulder checked by a specialist after she had dismissed it initially as eczema but grew concerned when it wouldn’t go away.
She was prescribed a chemo cream to treat the patch of skin and doctors explained that they wouldn’t need to operate when the treatment was successful.
She then had another patch of skin on her nose checked and doctors warned it could be cancerous, telling her: "If you don't treat them, later on in life that will spread and become skin cancer."
She then explained that she is using the chemo cream on her face too in the hope that this will resolve her health issue.
