Harry Kane and James Maddison had some unexpected guests during a round of golf in Australia.

The two Tottenham stars took to the golf course after playing in a 3-2 defeat by West Ham in a pre-season friendly in Perth on Tuesday. They were probably anticipating a quiet round in which they could unwind before getting back onto the training pitch with new boss Ange Postecoglou.

Instead they were forced to pause their game to watch two kangaroos fighting on the fairway. The two Aussie marsupials were boxing just yards away from the England stars, who reacted with disbelief as another appeared set to join the bout.

Uploading the clip to his Instagram story, Maddison wrote: "Settle down lads trying to take my shot here." Sharing the amusing video on his own account, Kane simply wrote: “Golf. Australia style.”

Much like previous summers, Kane’s pre-season is being overshadowed by talk of a transfer away from Tottenham. With just one year left on his Spurs contract, Bayern Munich are pushing hard to try and prize him away from Daniel Levy.

Unsurprisingly, a video of two kangaroos fighting prompted obvious jokes from fans. “The Kangaroos remind me of Levy and Bayern negotiating,” one wrote under Kane’s post.

Kane did not appear too distracted by all the transfer talk, nor the kangaroos, which didn’t disrupt their round for too long. His post also contained a clip of him playing a lovely approach shot onto the green with an iron from the striker.

Postecoglou is also relaxed about the future of his star striker, despite Bayern’s insistence that he will be moving to Bavaria. "I had a good chat with Harry," Postecoglou said ahead of the West Ham game.

“As I said before, nothing earth-shattering or defining from I guess what people are seeking. Just a good chat. I introduced myself and we spoke mainly about the club and where he thinks it's at and where he thinks we can improve things.

"[We've been] training ever since, it's been good. The discussion wasn't really about that [Kane's future]. It was more about the collective and what we're doing. Harry's the same as all the other players, you know.”

Spurs lost 3-2 to West Ham at the Optus Stadium, with their goals coming from forgotten midfielder Giovani Lo Celso and Destiny Udogie. The Hammers claimed the friendly win thanks to Danny Ings, Divin Mubama and Gianluca Scamacca.

Postecoglou’s side are next in action against Leicester City at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand on Sunday. They will then play the Lion City Sailors in Singapore before returning home to face Shakhtar Donetsk in north London and Barcelona in Spain.
