THE lead singer of Sticky Fingers has been rushed to hospital after falling ill just moments before he was due to go on stage.

Dylan Frost had been due to perform with the indie band in Brisbane, Australia, on Saturday evening, but the show had to be cancelled at the last minute.

The band emerged on stage to tell fans of the unfortunate cancellation.

Pianist Freddie Crabs told the crowd at the Riverstage venue: "As best we know he’s ok.

"Obviously this was a short time ago so we can’t do the show.

"Sorry to put you out like this. This is one of the best venues in Australia, we love coming here."

"We are so sorry and we’ll keep you updated. It’s going to be alright. We’re sorry. We’re really really sorry."

Guitarist Paddy Cornwall later confirmed that the show would be rescheduled, saying the band were "devastated".

Sticky Fingers have been enjoying a run of sold-out shows, including a recent UK and European tour.

Updates are expected on Frost's health and the date of the rescheduled show in the coming days, The Music reports.
