Roughly 600 users reported issues with WhatsApp - both on desktop and mobile.

Per Downdetector, the outage impacted users in Malaysia, Bangladesh, Mexico, Sri Lanka, and Iraq.

Approximately 68 percent of reported outages were related to sending messages. About 25 percent of users reported general issues with the app, and 8 percent indicated issues with the website.

Many reported the texting tool was not loading at all, while others claimed that their app was freezing.

When will the issues be resolved?

It's unclear at the time of publishing when the app will return its service.

However, that didn't stop WhatsApp users from expressing their frustration with the outage.

"I can't send or receive messages what is going on?" one user commented on DownDetector.

Another declared: "messages can't go thru."
