CONOR McGregor's former SBG Ireland teammate Tom Egan has shared a picture of the pair from 2009.

Egan shared the snap on social media of the duo from UFC 93 as they both look unrecognisable from their current selves.

The now Boston based fighter was the first ever Irish fighter to compete in the Dana White run promotion 14-years ago.

Egan competed on the UFC 93 card that was held in 3Arena over a decade ago, it was also the first time the world's number one MMA promotion dawned Irish shores.

Although Egan lost the fight via TKO to England's John Hathaway in a welterweight contest, it was a historic night for Irish mixed martial arts.

The event featured MMA legends such as Dan Henderson, Rich Franklin, Maurício Rua, and Mark Coleman.

Tom only fought once for the promotion but went on to compile an MMA record of 7-4 before hanging up his gloves in 2014.

The 'Tanks' is now an MMA coach and keen Gaeilgeoir in his adopted home in Massachusetts.

He has also seen been granted American citizenship after a long stint in the country.

Egan was also part of Conor McGregor's early UFC fight camps at the start of his run towards featherweight gold a decade ago.

Now taking to Instagram the Boston ace shared a snap with 'The Notorious' from that historic night in Dublin at UFC 93.

He captioned the story post by saying: "On this day in 2009 made history by becoming Ireland's first UFC star at the age of just 20....."
