Man Utd transfers live - Ten Hag's Todibo decision, Maguire and Greenwood latest

The end of Harry Maguire's time at Manchester United is nigh, as Erik ten Hag continues his ruthless streak by sanctioning a move to West Ham.

A £30million deal has been agreed with the Irons, who are also interested in signing Scott McTominay but will need to meet United's £45m asking price. Maguire's looming departure, still dependant on him agreeing personal terms, will open up a centre-back slot in Ten Hag's side and the Red Devils boss has identified two options.

French duo Jean-Clair Todibo and Benjamin Pavard appear to be the frontrunners, while Englishmen Jarrad Branthwaite and Marc Guehi have also been shortlisted. Former Barcelona defender Todibo currently plays for Nice, who are owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, while Pavard has spent the last five years at Bayern Munich and can also operate at right-back.

Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood's future is set to be decided following an internal investigation at United after police dropped charges against him in February. The club's takeover saga is also rumbling on, as is their pursuit of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat after the Red Devils agreed to sell Fred to Turkish giants Fenerbahce for £12.9m.

Stay tuned today for Friday's latest transfer transfer, takeover updates and more from Old Trafford...

Schuurs links resurface

Manchester United have once again been tipped to sign Dutch defender Perr Schuurs.

Having first been linked by Tuttomercatoweb earlier this year, the Torino centre-back is once again being touted for a move to Old Trafford.

Schuurs, 23, left Ajax last summer like Erik ten Hag and has since established himself in Serie A.

The Netherlands youth international had been targeted by Crystal Palace this summer but the Eagles were unwilling pay his €40million (£34.5m) asking price, while Liverpool are also known admirers.

Full story: United delay Greenwood decision

Manchester United are set to consult the club's women's team players who are still at the World Cup before making a definitive decision over Mason Greenwood's future.

Marcus Rashford makes tongue-in-cheek joke after being dropped by Erik ten HagMarcus Rashford makes tongue-in-cheek joke after being dropped by Erik ten Hag

Greenwood, 21, has not played for United since January 2022 and is currently the subject of an internal club investigation. The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all criminal charges against Greenwood – one count of attempted rape, one count of controlling and coercive behaviour and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm – back in February.

Speculation has been rife over Greenwood's future since the start of the summer, with several Serie A clubs supposedly interested in his services. Meanwhile, the men's first-team are believed to be split over the prospect of the striker returning to the club.

But now, according to the BBC, United want the women's squad as part of the process to determine whether or not Greenwood stays at the Red Devils. A number of stars, including Ella Toone, Katie Zelem and Alessia Russo are still with England at the Women's World Cup as they prepare to face Colombia in the quarter-final on Saturday.

Full story: Why United didn't go for Kane

Erik ten Hag insists Manchester United are "really happy" with their acquisition of Rasmus Hojlund despite Harry Kane closing in on a move to Bayern Munich.

United were heavily linked with a move for Tottenham star Kane before being seemingly priced out of a bid for his services. Ten Hag is a big admirer of the 30-year-old and has been public in his praise for the England captain, but opted to sanction a £72m move for 20-year-old Hojlund instead.

Now Bayern look set to land Kane's signature in a deal worth in the region of £100m up front, though the German club could end up forking out another £20m in potential add-ons. Pressed for his views on Kane's transfer, Ten Hag told reporters on Friday: "First of all, we have chosen a striker and we are really happy with our choice.

Moyes confirms Maguire bid

West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed that Manchester United have accept his club's bid for Harry Maguire.

The offer, reported to be worth £30m, will see Maguire head to East London should he agree personal terms.

Moyes added: "While he's not our player I'm not in a position to discuss him."

Ten Hag salutes Kane ahead of Bayern move

Erik ten Hag has reacted to Harry Kane's imminent transfer to Bayern Munich, having chosen not to pursue a move this summer.

"We have chosen a striker [Rasmus Hojlund] and we're really happy with our choice," Ten Hag told a press conference.

"(Kane) is a great striker. That's clear, really a goal-maker, and apart from that has all the conditions and abilities you want to see in a striker. It's a miss for the Premier League, absolutely."

Maguire available for Wolves

Erik ten Hag says that "of course" Harry Maguire is available for the game against Wolves on Monday.

Maguire has been the subject of a £30million agreement between Manchester United and West Ham but the England international centre-back is yet to agree personal terms.

Ancelotti railing against De Gea move

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti would prefer a move to sign Sevilla goalkeeper Bono over former Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea, COPE report.

Madrid are in need of a new goalkeeper after current No.1 Thibaut Courtios suffered a serious ACL injury in training.

De Gea imfamously came close to joining Los Blancos in 2015 before United managed to keep hold of him.

There were suggestions yesterday that he'd finally get the move, one month after being released by United at the end of his contract, but it now seems unlikely.

United delaying Greenwood decision for World Cup players

Manchester United are delaying their decision on Mason Greenwood's future in order to consult with players from their women's team who are still at the World Cup.

According to the Guardian, United are continuing to consult key stakeholders and want their women's team to be a part of the procress.

England stars Mary Earps, Ella Toone and Katie Zelem remain in Australia as the Lionesses go in search of glory, with the final taking place on Sunday, August 20.

Two French players, Aissatou Tounkara and Estelle Cascarino, are also at the World Cup and both nations play their quarter-final fixtures tomorrow.

Besiktas reach Bailly agreement

Eric Bailly has reached an agreement in principle to sign for Turkish giants Besiktas.

Now reports from Italy claim that Manchester United must negotiate the best exit strategy.

Bailly, 29, has a contract until 2024 with the option of a further year and spent last season on loan at Marseille.

Mengi offered loan in France

Manchester United defender Teden Mengi is considering a loan move to French side Amiens.

The 21-year-old centre-back is expected to be loaned out before deadline day and has the chance to move to France's second tier for a season.

Academic graduate Mengi, who was prevented from leaving on loan in January due to injury, is contracted at United until 2024.

Hojlund shirt number

Rasmus Hojlund could wear the No.17 shirt for Manchester United following Fred's imminent departure.

Not set to make his debut until September due to injury, the Danish hotshot hasn't yet been assigned a squad number after completing his £72million transfer from Atalanta last week.

Fred, meanwhile, is heading to Fenerbahce on a permanent basis, according to reports.

That'd allow Hojlund to take his No.17 shirt.

ICYMI: Henderson could stay at United

Dean Henderson's proposed switch from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest could be scuppered after the Red Devils were hit by an injury blow.

Henderson spent last season on loan at the City Ground, and was a standout performer before his season was curtailed by injury. Forest manager Steve Cooper wasn't prepared to let the 26-year-old simply head back to Old Trafford, and has been battling to keep him on either another loan or permanent deal.

Even after signing Arsenal stopper Matt Turner this week, Cooper reiterated that he still wanted to keep Henderson at the club. And the one-cap England international seemed surplus to requirements at his parent club following the signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan.

Martial offered to Fenerbahce

Anthony Martial has reportedly been offered to Fenerbahce, the club where Manchester United team-mate Fred is set to end up.

If Marseille winger Cengiz Under's move falls through, Turkish outlet Sportx claim that Fenerbache will move for Martial, who United are open to selling.

They've already agreed a £12.9million to sign Fred.

Kane to Bayern move suddenly delayed

Another twist in the summer's biggest transfer saga.

Harry Kane has been prevented from flying to complete his move to Bayern Munich after Tottenham decided that they weren't fully satisfied with the finer details of the deal.

The Spurs striker, 29, was en route to Stansted airport but has been told that he can't fly.

A chance for Manchester United to swoop in, perhaps?

Wan-Bissaka reflects on struggles

Aaron Wan-Bissaka admits he's had a mental battle at Manchester United - having been snubbed for long periods before enjoying a return to the first-team.

The right-back was a £50m addition early in the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era but, after a positive start, began to slip down the pecking order. Erik ten Hag's arrival did little to revive his fortunes and he looked set for the exit door.

Towards the end of last season though Wan-Bissaka forced his way into the starting XI and became a regular, legitimising the stance he took to "train for myself" when he battled with himself about his purpose having been continually overlooked in Manchester.

Pavard latest

According to Sky Germany, Manchester United are the favourites to sign French defender Benjamin Pavard.

It is claimed that Pavard is keen to leave Bayern Munich despite Thomas Tuchel wanting him to stay and United boss Erik ten Hag wants to bring him to Old Trafford. Talks remain ongoing, but are said to be positive with Bayern valuing Pavard at around €30m (£26m).

Henderson latest

But the landscape has suddenly changed at United. Back-up keeper Tom Heaton, who earlier this summer was denied a move to Luton Town, has now been ruled out from the opening weeks of the season with a calf injury.

Maguire still stewing over West Ham move

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is yet to make a decision over his future after West Ham had a £30m bid accepted.

Hammers boss David Moyes is looking to strengthen his side after banking £105m from the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal. They made their first senior signing on Thursday with the purchase of midfielder Edson Alvarez from Ajax and Moyes wants Rice to be the next man through the door.

Maguire has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford, with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez firmly established as Erik ten Hag's first choice centre-back pairing. And the Dutchman's decision to strip Maguire of the captaincy appeared to indicate his time at the club was set to come to an end.

However, the Daily Mail state that West Ham are 'still waiting' for Maguire to decide if he wants to leave United or stay and fight for his place. The report states that they are 'awaiting confirmation that Maguire wants to make the move' before discussing personal terms with the 30-year-old.

Reason behind Hojlund shirt number wait

Rasmus Hojlund was a notable absentee when Manchester United confirmed their shirt numbers for the upcoming season.

However, it appears that is down to the fact that Fred is on the verge of a move to Fenerbahce. Hojlund wore the number 17 shirt at previous club Atalanta and that is the number Fred currently has at United.

As a result, it seems United are simply waiting for Fred's move to Turkey to be confirmed before giving his number to Hojlund, who will miss the first few weeks of the season with an minor injury.

Wan-Bissaka opens up about future

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has admitted he thought his time at Manchester United was over last summer when Erik ten Hag wanted to sign a new right-back.

However, he has impressed Ten Hag and reports have claimed United are keen for him to sign a new deal with his current contract set to expire next summer. "You have that feeling [it might be over]," Wan-Bissaka admitted.

"But for me, I always have faith in myself to get out of situations like that. I had my head screwed on and I was ready to do what it takes.

"It’s quite hard to motivate yourself to train hard. Because you be telling yourself, ‘What am I training for, when I’m not gonna be playing?’ But I just had the mindset: ‘I’ll train for myself,’ just to get the best out of myself.

"It’s obviously never good. But I just had to deal with it. I had support around me, my family, telling me every day: ‘Just keep working hard, your time will come’. So that helped me get through each day.

"I haven’t heard anything yet [about a new contract]. I’m happy here."

De Gea in talks with Real Madrid

David de Gea is currently a free agent after his contract with Manchester United expired, but talkSPORT are now reporting he could join Real Madrid.

The report states that Real are in 'advanced talks' with De Gea as an injury replacement for Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian international faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after rupturing his ACL and De Gea looks set to join as cover.

Juventus enter race for Man Utd target

According to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset, Juventus could now beat Manchester United to the signing of Sofyan Amrabat.

Juventus are finalising the exit of Denis Zakaria, who looks set to join Monaco, and the report states that 'interest has shifted to Fiorentina's Amrabat' who is said to be available for a fee of around €30m (£26m).
