Liverpool have already spent heavily this summer but appear likely to add even more new signings to their squad.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have arrived from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively. The pair were signed for a combined fee of just under £100m as Jurgen Klopp attempts to rebuild his squad.

More additions might be needed before the end of the transfer window with a host of current Reds linked with summer exits. Take a look at all of the latest rumours coming out of Merseyside over the past 24 hours both on the incoming and outgoing front:

Southampton reject Lavia offer

Southampton have reportedly rejected Liverpool's opening offer for Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia. The former Chelsea trainee has been identified as a potential replacement for Fabinho, who looks set for a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Liverpool have made their first effort to sign Lavia having lodged a £37m bid for him, according to The Athletic. However, Southampton have swiftly turned down that offer and are instead keen to receive around £50m for his services.

Whilst the Reds’ opening offer has been turned down, it is expected that Lavia would be open to a move to Anfield. It is reported that personal terms on a switch would not be an issue.

Kimmich responds to Liverpool links

With the Reds facing frustration in their pursuit of Lavia, their interest in Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich looks set to go the same way. Reports in Germany earlier this summer suggested that the Reds could look to move for him, with Bayern open to selling with just two years left on his contract.

However, it appears that a move is unlikely with Kimmich underlining his intent to stay in Bavaria for the time being. As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, he said: "I'm very certain that I will play the coming season at FC Bayern. I have no other plans."

His Bayern teammate Leon Goretzka was also linked with a switch but he too has rejected the prospect of moving to Anfield. Asked by Sky in Germany whether he could quit the Allianz Arena, he responded: "No. I love the club, I love the city, I love the fans."

Mourinho eyed Reds star

Jose Mourinho's Roma were reportedly keen on a deal for Liverpool youngster Fabio Carvalho this summer ahead of his move to RB Leipzig. The Portuguese midfielder completed a season-long loan switch to Germany earlier this summer.

However, it appears that he had a number of other clubs chasing his services. According to The Athletic, AC Milan, Burnley and Eintracht Frankfurt were all interested.

Mourinho was also keen to take Carvalho to the Italian capital, who have already signed Houssem Aouar, Evan N’Dicka and Rasmus Kristensen this summer.
