DANIEL STURRIDGE played with fire after he did an impression of Roy Keane... while standing alongside him.

The former England striker, 33, was a part of Sky Sports' Super Sunday coverage alongside presenter Dave Jones, Roy Keane and Micah Richards.

Sturridge has not retired from football but has been without a club since leaving Perth Glory in June 2022.

However, he impressed many with his foray into the world of punditry.

He had earlier won praise for his analysis of Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo following their 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

And later on he was part of the team assessing Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Sturridge was discussing Mo Salah’s furious reaction to being subbed when he mimicked the fiery Irishman’s voice and said “he’s a big baby” while putting his arm on the hardman’s shoulder.

But as the ex-Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool ace continued to make his point, Keane was caught looking at host Jones before shaking his head and rolling his eyes.

After Sky Sports shared the clip on social media, one fan replied: “Daniel Sturridge nails the Roy Keane impression!”

“Keane was fuming,” wrote another as a fellow supporter added: “Roy’s gonna chin him.”

The comments continued to flood in, with another tweet claiming: “Roy HATES that man.”

The new pundit seemed to have plenty of admirers for his impression, with one viewer even stating: “Give Sturridge a 10 year contract.”

Keane may not agree though, with fans also left in stitches at the Manchester United legend's reaction to Sturridge telling Trent Alexander-Arnold to "keep it funky with ya boy" after the game.
