CELTIC misfit Osaze Urhoghide has left Parkhead on a permanent - after just ONE first team appearance.

Signed from Sheffield Wednesday in one of Ange Postecoglou's first acts as Hoops boss, the Dutch-born defender made a solitary appearance - against Real Betis - under Ange Postecoglou.

He was shipped out to KV Oostende in Belgium on loan 18 months ago and did enough to convince Ligue 2 side Amiens SC to target the Englishman.

Urghoghide played 34 times for the Jupiler league side last season and the 23-year-old has arrived to replace Formose Mendy at the 'Unicorn Stadium' by the club, also nicknamed the Unicorns.

The defender has managed just one appearance since joining the Hoops - playing in the 3-2 Europa League win over Real Betis in his first season at Parkhead.

While Urhoghide is poised to leave Celtic's backline, the Hoops are running the rule over two other swoops to strengthen the defence.

Australian youngster Alex Bonetig has been on trial for a fortnight in Lennoxtown after being spotted on tour with the Socceroos' youth team.

The 6'2" stopper - previously watched by Everton as a schoolboy - is viewed as a potential recruit for Darren O'Dea's B team.

Brendan Rodgers is also close to signing Polish defender Maik Nawrocki from Legia Warsaw in a £4.3m deal.

Meanwhile former Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has added his SEVENTH Scottish club to his CV.

He has pitched up in League One at Queen of the South, re-uniting with former Livingston and Hibs team-mate Marvin Bartley who is boss at Palmerston.

The Nigerian international spent last season at Greenock Morton and was on trial at Cove Rangers earlier this summer.

He said: "“I’m happy to be joining Marvin at Queens and to get back amongst a squad. When I got the call, I jumped at the chance to sign.

"I’m looking forward to joining the rest of the boys and hopefully my experience and knowledge will add value to the team.”

Bartley added: "With the injuries and suspensions we have just now we needed to add to the squad and I’m grateful Efe has joined on a short deal.

"He is someone I have known for a long time so I know what he brings and what we will get.

"We have a lot of talented young players, but we are currently short of senior heads. Efe will give us that experience.

"He is also a great character to have around the dressing room.”
